Dubai Land Department launches the Gulf Real Estate Awards

During a press conference held at the Dubai Land Department(DLD), HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of the Land Department, officially announced the launch of the first Gulf Real Estate Awards.

In the presence of local and regional media, Bin Mejren stressed in his opening address that the awards came from the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, towards more innovation, and will have a significant impact on the GCC real estate market, through promoting and encouraging the best innovative practices adopted by real estate development and brokerage companies, facilities management, engineering and legal services, contractors and consultants.

Bin Merjen said in his address: “These awards have been launched following a considerable amount of effort and planning in line with our vision to be the first real estate destination globally in innovation, trust and happiness.” Bin Merjen continued: “These awards are an expression of our commitment to stimulating innovation in the real estate sector, by inspiring creativity and exceptional practices that lead to sustainable growth in the Gulf region. These awards are an incentive for companies operating in the real estate sector to compete with each other and improve their services and projects.”

The Dubai Real Estate Institute, the educational arm of Dubai Land Department, signed an agreement with Awards International on the sidelines of the recent Cityscape Global 2016 exhibition, which paved the way for these awards open to all businesses that operate in the Gulf real estate sector.’

Mark Hamill, Managing Director of Awards International UAE said: “It is a great honour for us to have launched the Gulf Real Estate Awards with the Dubai Real Estate Institute, given the sterling reputation that they have across the Gulf. There is a strong belief in this Awards programme from HE Sultan Bin Merjen and Mahmoud El-Burai, as it will operate as a platform for companies from all over the region to come to Dubai to share information about their initiatives and share best practice. This bodes well for Dubai and it will help sustain a healthy competition for many years to come. Those who already live here know how far the real estate market has come in the UAE and the region, and these awards will be the icing on the cake for the hard work by industry leaders as well as helping to continue to build trust in the market.”
