Regal International explores modular housing systems for building affordable housing
Representing Regal Lands Sdn. Bhd. (“Regal Lands”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Regal International Group Ltd. (“RIG” or together with its subsidiary, the “Group”), Mr. Dominic Su, Executive Chairman and CEO of RIG, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with Weifang Henglida Steel Structure Co., Ltd. 潍坊亨利达钢结构有限公司(“WHSS”) to explore cost-effective prefabricated modular housing systems and technologies on 28 March 2017 in Qingdao, China.
Continuous Initiative to Streamline Cost Structure
Together with WHSS, Regal Lands will be exploring the feasibility of adopting prefabricated modular housing systems, henceforth enhancing its affordable housing projects in Sarawak. This new strategic alliance is expected to value-add to the Group’s core property business and complement its cost-cutting corporate strategy, consequently raising RIG’s profile as a proficient builder-developer.
“Modular housing systems help speed up site construction time, reduce on-site material wastages and manpower requirements. In return, these cost saving measures can be translated into better quality houses with a more affordable price tag, which is exactly what Regal’s customers want,” remarked Mr Su, who believes in putting customers’ requirements as the company’s first priority.
Witnessed by the delegation led by Assistant Minister for Urbanisation, Datuk Talib Zulpillip , the MOU signing concluded the nine-day working visit organized by the Housing Ministry and Urbanization and Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (Sheda) Kuching Branch, to various factories and production sites specialized in affordable housing solutions in Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Qingdao.
