21-storey building to be built in Canada
A developer has filed an application for a new 21-storey, 116-unit highrise in Centretown. Applicant RLA Architecture, working with property owner Upscale Homes, is looking for a zoning bylaw amendment to allow a proposed highrise residential development at 339-343 Gloucester St., between Lyon and Bay streets.
The construction permits the currently proposed 21-storey height. However, the application aims to reduce the necessary setbacks to the side and backyard. The width of the garage road and the corresponding corridor will also be very short under the current zoning regulations.
The proposed development would include a total of 12 underground parking spaces and 142 bicycle spaces. Besides, it will be just a few blocks from Lyon Station on the light-rail transit line.
