Turkey’s defense systems developer, ASELSAN, is to be part of a team involved in the NATO Ballistic Missile Defense program, the company announced April 27.

In February, the NATO Communications and Information Agency awarded a $77 million contract to Leidos, a U.S. company specializing in defense, to provide systems engineering and integration support for the Ballistic Missile Defense program. In the statement, ASELSAN said it would work with eight other team members from Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Under the contract, Leidos will deliver the NATO Ballistic Missile Defense capability, including Ballistic Missile Defense enhancements to the NATO Communications and Information systems, refinement and maintenance of the NATO Ballistic Missile Defense architecture.

The project will be executed on the premises of the NATO Communications and Information Agency in the Netherlands, the statement said.
