Bahrain can begin construction of a second airport to support Bahrain International Airport (BAH) in the next 15 years.
A passenger terminal building is already under construction at BAH- making it one of Bahrain’s largest construction projects. The project is due to open third quarter of 2019.
Kamal Ahmed, Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, said that the new airport would ideally see construction kick off in 2030.
In addition, five-thousand employees of Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) are being trained to more efficiently do their jobs when a new passenger terminal building opens later this year.
