Binali Yıldırım: Turkey to manufacture its own high-speed train!

Turkey will manufacture its own high-speed train which will be on the railways by 2018, said Transport Minister Binali Yildirim on Tuesday while promoting the “National Train Project” in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

Turkey has had to import rails, switches, traverses despite having a 150-year railway history, said Yildirim adding “It will be able to manufacture its own trains now.”

“National Train Project” was launched in 2012 and it will cost about $3 billion.

Trains will be manufactured in three factories of the State Railways.
