Ipanema Brazil’s most expensive area
Ipanema the most expensive neighborhood in Brazil, the fastest growing country in South America’s economy and tourism.
In addition to high property prices, Ipanema is home to the world’s most expensive beaches. The city is known as the most expensive, safe and exclusive area in Brazil. Experts say prices will rise due to low land volume.
The real estate in Judice & Araujo, Frederico Judice Araujo, said the properties in the region are very expensive. The most expensive areas are between 20,000 and 25,000 per square meter. However, on the coastline of the most exclusive street in Ipanema, Avenue Vieira Souto, prices are up to BRL60,000.
Ipanema is a neighborhood that has three different real estate “types,” said Sheyla Carvajal, of Bossa Nova Sotheby’s International Realty.
“We have the region in front of the sea, Avenue Vieira Souto, where all the buildings are of high standard, most up to six floors, some with more than 15 floors,” she said. “The size of real estate varies from 150 square meters to 1,000 square meters and all have sea and mountain views.”
The property, which is located in the region and away from the beach, is sold under 60.000 TL.
Busier streets, with more traffic and more shops, have real estate that’s less expensive, “from BRL8,000 to BRL30,000, depending on the state of the property,” according to Ms. Carvajal.
Apart from these, the region is home to the most elite schools in the country. The Catholic School of Notre Dame College is one of the oldest schools in the neighborhood since 85 years.
