Kempinski Hotels has opened a new property in China’s Zhejiang province.

The 344 key Kempinski Hotel Hangzhou is located at the southern end of the city’s Grand Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hotel designed by ACID Singapore, is located within a large miced use complex that includes shopping, residential and office units. It is close to museums as well as the landmark Gongchen Bridge.


Public space includes a health club with a lap pool, a spa, six restaurants and bars, including a delicatessen inspired by Kempinski’s German heritage. In addition, the hotel has more than 2,000 square of meters of meeting and convention space, including the 1,118 square meter Grand Ballroom, the 239 square meter Canal Ballroom, four function rooms, a boardroom and three outdoor venues.

Currently, Kempinski has a total of 22 hotels open and in the pipeline across China.
