Ahead of a planned move to Paya Lebar Quarter in 2018, Lendlease will be relocating its Asia headquarters in Singapore to a co-working space. This pilot will enable Lendlease employees to experience working in a co-working space and promote an innovative and collaborative culture. Some 100 employees are expected to use the co-working space at The Work Project at Downtown Gallery, OUE Downtown from the end of June 2017.

Co-working spaces, which are work environments shared among multiple companies or individuals, have become increasingly popular. Such spaces provide a conducive environment for tenants to foster collaboration and innovation, as well as network with like-minded individuals.

At this co-working space, Lendlease employees will no longer be restricted to the confines of allocated seating. Instead, they are provided with a neighborhood, a variety of seating options including team tables and breakaway pods, allowing them to choose where they sit based on the task they need to complete. They will also have access to shared services such as hot-desks, breakout areas, meeting rooms and lounge space.

Tony Lombardo, Lendlease’s Chief Executive Officer, Asia, said: “Lendlease is a global leader in developing workplace destinations. A great workplace can provide employees with a positive sense of purpose, which will enhance productivity and contribute to the attraction and retention of talent. We are excited to explore co-working and looking forward to collaborating with a variety of co-working providers to explore offering such workplace concepts at our upcoming Paya Lebar Quarter development.”

Lendlease is currently developing the S$3.2 billion mixed-use development, Paya Lebar Quarter which will bring together progressive workplace, retail, entertainment and exclusive residences set within generous lush green spaces, adding vibrancy to the new Paya Lebar city precinct. The centrally located new business hub will offer three Grade A office towers, providing a complete work ecosystem and flexible workplace designs that enable progressive companies to create synergy to promote knowledge sharing, innovation and collaboration.

As the first development in Singapore to register for the International WELL Building Institute’s WELL Core and Shell Certification, Paya Lebar Quarter has a vision to be an Active, Green and Engaged precinct that can enhance the wellbeing and productivity of the people who will come to work in these spaces every day.
