Marriott opens second Four Points in Tanzania
Marriott International has opened its second Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Tanzania.
The Four Points by Sheraton Dar es Salaam, New Africa Hotel, is a rebranding of the former New Africa Hotel, The Four Points by Sheraton Dar es Salaam, New Africa Hotel was originally the official residence of Kaiser Wilhelm II, the last German Emperor and King of Prussia, in 1896. In addition, the building was used as a hospital during World War I before it was converted into a hotel.
Alex Kyriakidis, president/managing director, Middle East and Africa, Marriott International, said, “The hotel is a great addition to our rapidly growing footprint in Africa and further consolidates the brand’s presence in Tanzania.”
The 174 room hotel has all-day dining, a coffee shop and a lounge bar. The property has The Spice Route, a signature restaurant serving Pan-Asian fare.Other facilities includes an outdoor pool and a fitness center as well as 1,000 square feet of indoor meeting and banquet space spread across 12 meeting rooms.
