Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan talked about several high profile joint projects with Japan at the Turkish-Japanese Business Forum on Tuesday during his two-day trip to Japan.
Erdogan referred to the nuclear power plant that will be built in Sinop with a joint venture consortium of Japanese Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and French Areva. The deal for the project was signed between Erdogan and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe on May 3, 2013.
“This project will involve long-term cooperation for our two countries. We know that human resource is essential to make this project come to life”, he said.
Erdogan also referred to the “Turkey-Japan Science and Technology University”- a project started with President Abe. He encouraged Japanese businessmen to adopt the project.
Erdogan also talked about the economic transformation in Turkey in the past eleven years. “We have added the elements of constancy, reliability and predictability to our economic policies in a period that we showed good performance. We saw the results of this in the post-economic crises. While millions of people lost their jobs in USA and EU during 2009-2013 period, we provided jobs for our six million citizens”.
