The construction of the RTA Smart Traffic Systems Project in Al Barsha was completed by 23 percent.

The updates came in a round at the Traffic Control Center at Al Barsha, which has recently been involved in a series of projects aimed at making mobility smarter, with the participation of HE RTA chairman of the RTA and HE Mattar Al Tayer.

During his visit, Al Tayer has been updated on the progress of the construction of a five-storey control center under construction, consisting of four sections, a traffic control center, two wings for support offices and a reception hall.

A supplementary building for electricity and air conditioning units is also part of the plan.

The project stems from the UAE’s expanding scope of intelligent and intelligent traffic systems as the most intelligent city in the world, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE President and Prime Minister and Dubai’s directives.

Moreover, the progress in the building reached 26 percent, the structure completed and the coating and electromechanical studies continued. Besides, the expansion of the Intelligent Traffic Systems Project was completed by 23 percent.

According to ProTenders, the construction intelligence platform, the Al Barsha Traffic Management Center project is worth $ 20 million.

Once completed, the five-storey traffic management center will increase the exposure of Dubai roads from existing 11 percent to 60 percent using intelligent systems. The latest technology detects accidents and bottlenecks in a shorter time and provides quick responses.

The building is also part of the RTA’s main project, the Dubai Smart Traffic Infrastructure and Traffic Control Center, valued at $ 160.6 million. Furthermore, it divided into five packages: installation of traffic monitoring and data capture systems; road signs or dynamic messages; construction works; central traffic system; and the establishment of a traffic control center.

As part of the project, RTA will introduce Smart Messaging Signs and smart applications to warn passengers about road conditions and improve traffic management during Expo 2020 Dubai.

On the progress of the project, Al Tayer said: “This project is part of the deliverable of the Innovation Lab (RTA Route 2030) endorsed by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.”

According to Al Tayer, the project includes an integrated smart traffic system infrastructure in the Emirates at Al Barsha and the improvement and expansion of Dubai’s intelligent traffic systems.
