The size of Turkish banking sector’s assets increased by 20.6 percent in November 2013 compared to the end of 2012.
According to the temporary figures released by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency of Turkey (BDDK) on Tuesday, the size of assets reached 1.653 trillion Turkish Lira, TL, ($759.3 billion) as of November 2013. It is an increase of 282.9 billion TL compared to the end of 2012.
BDDK noted that net term profit of the banking sector rose 6.8 percent and reached 23.3 billion TL in November 2013.
Meanwhile, credits increased 27.1 percent and reached 1,009 billion TL ($500 billion) in November 2013 when compared to the end of 2012.
