Turkish construction sector grew by 2 pct in Q2

According to the Sectoral Report September 2015 released by IMSAD (Turkish Building Material Producers Association) Turkish construction sector grew by 2 percent in the second quarter of 2015. 


Report shows that the level of the ongoing construction works declined by 3.7 percent in September 2015 compared to the previous month and decreased to 95.3. Report also says that the decline of ongoing construction works is expected to decrease until the elections on November 1. 

Construction sector confidence index also decreased by 4.9 percent to 11.5 level, said in the report. 

Industrial production of construction materials increased by 1.3 percent in July 2015, while it decreased by 2.1 percent in the first 7 months of the year.

In July 2015, construction materials exports showed a 17.2 percent decrease compared to the same month of the last year. Total worth of the exports was $1.44 billion. Construction materials import increased by 7.9 percent in the same period and reached to $823 million. According to the data construction sector showed a 2 percent growth in the second quarter of 2015
