Harborough District Council announced to Waterloo Housing Group will sell land. The Harborough County Council in the UK will sell land to the Waterloo Housing Group, which builds affordable houses.

The estate, sold to the Waterloo Housing Group, is located on Weir Road in Saddington. The purpose of the sale is to provide affordable houses with common ownership. The district executive board approved the sale on February 11, 2019.

Cllr James Hallam, Harborough District Council’s portfolio holder for finance and assets, said: “We continue to maximise the use of our assets, on behalf of the taxpayer, to deliver income to help us provide Council services for our community, whilst enabling some much needed affordable housing for residents.”

Neil Adie, Development Director (East) said: “Waterloo Housing are extremely pleased to be working with Harborough District Council on this project which will enable four new shared ownership homes to be developed, for local people in the village of Saddington.”

The Waterloo Housing Group provides social housing and affordable new homes in the Midland and Lincolnshire areas. The company manages more than 27,000 homes across the UK. The company is building about 1,000 new affordable housing every year.
